"Fine! You want to make it so hard!? I'll just set all the information myself and we can continue."

The hooded figure writes your name as 'Asshole', and your pronouns as 'Fucking/Bitch'.

"Happy now!?"

"Yes."

Apologize

You walk around to a back patio with an overhang, lined with flowerbeds full of exotic flowers you barely recognize. They look recently trimmed, though you're not sure by who. There's a back door that leads to a room inside.

"Callum is my only son. He has a problem fitting in most of the time, but I know he's happy now. He works at a hardware store downtown, but not very often. What little money he does make he spends on clothes and such. If he asked me, I'd buy him some, but maybe he doesn't trust me after last time... I love him. I truly do. I hope he knows that, and how proud of him I am..."

wine cellar

A wooden cellar door that lies at an angle to the base of the house and the ground. It looks old and worn, but not as bad as you'd think for a cellar. You don't know whats inside but the door wont looks like it's sealed pretty tight.

Try to open

Nevermind

You pull with all your might- and acomplish absolutely nothing. Good job. Way to go. Did you just expect it to open for you? Why the fuck are you trying to go in it anyways? This isn't your house, it isn't your cellar, and you probably need a key to open it like in one of those horror games where theres like thirty different keys for a bunch of drawers that have various puzzle elements you need to escape, and then the tedium of doing such a long-winded puzzle gets to you, and you die anyways. Then you have to restart from scratch, and of course every item is in a new location. ...Basically it's locked and you need a key probably. Or just for someone else to open it for you.

Back

You walk behind the desk. Theres a few drawers, but only one is unlocked. Your hand shakes as you grasp the handle, as if you've done this before and were punished, and know to await the same punishment, but harsher this time for a repeat offense. You pull the drawer out slowly, holding it steady to limit the amount of noise it makes.

The drawer is open.

Like opening Pandora's box, you await for a catastrophe.

Nothing happens.

You peer inside,

and see,

Nothing. It's empty.

Welp

The father's bedroom stands at the end of the hall. The door is locked tight, but a key might be in his office.

Drank Isabell's Tea: It was yummy :)

Pissed Off: You finally peed, and almost died for it. Could you not have held it any longer?

Back

You sit at a long wooden dining room table, able to seat 14 people; Six on each side, and one at each end. Isabell comes out with a cart, wheeling over two large pots, as well as a platter of garlic bread. The larger pot has spaghetti noodles in it, the other is full of sauce and meatballs.

You aren't sure how everyone knew it was dinner time, but then you realize Isabell simply texted everyone in a family group chat.

Mellie is the first one down, which isn't surprising at first because her room is only a floor above, but then you realize how sluggish the bear girl really is. Then she sees you at the table with the food and runs over to claim the seat next to you, you sitting in one of the middle seats along the side.

The father and Callum come down next, and Leila comes in from outside, her overalls sweaty and dirty . She tells her dad she's going to change before eating, and runs upstairs.

Stacey comes down next,

Jess comes down the stairs slowly. You see them rubbing their eyes and taking a deep breath, before turning and coming down the steps smiling. It looks like they were crying, but no one really acknowldges it. They sit at the table, and take the apron off, sitting it on their lap.

Stacey sits at the head seat closer to you, while Callum, Father and Jess sit opposite of you, the father directly across from your seat. Leila comes back down and sits on the other side of Mellie. It looks like everyone is here, except Lea and Raven. Isabell serves everyone so you all can start eating. The father asks Stacey to go get Raven, and roughly thirty seconds later, Stacey comes back down, with Raven trudging down a little bit later.

Raven looks to be about Mellie's height, has tar-black hair with dark-purple highlights, and her face small and pale, dotted with piercings; She has some on her lips, eyebrows, and nose, as well as two chains hanging from her earlobes. Her clothes are a black pullover hoodie, and dark tights, which outline her malnourished legs.

She comes over and picks up her plate from beside you, and turns to head back to her room. "Raven, why not eat with us? We do have a guest after all, and it'd be nice if you two were to get acquainted." Defeated, she turns back, and cautiously sits next to you.

Dinner commences, and the father, who sits across from you, beckons his children. "Kids, this is , will be staying with us for a while. won't be working for us as previously stated, but treat with respect, as you would any other guest." They accept the terms, and some smile or wave at you to show that acceptance.

Mellie chats you up as she's sitting beside you, and talks extensively about her vast manga collection. All the while, you notice Raven to your other side having trouble eating. She prods her food with her fork, and in the process accidently knocks her garlic bread to the floor. She looks at the floor, and then back to the plate, and rests her head in her arms at the edge of the table.

Give Raven your bread

Ignore

Ignore

You lightly tap her shoulder, and she flinches, raising her head to face you. Carefully, like you're approaching a skittish wild animal, you pick up your bread and set it on her plate, giving her a kind smile, and go back to your food, and to your conversation with Mellie. Raven looks up at you for a few seconds, then starts eating her food, garlic bread too, as if nothing happened.

You ignore this garlic plight of Raven's, and go back to your conversation with Mellie. Raven keeps her head down, not touching her food for the rest of dinner.

Suddenly, you hear the front door burst open. It's just a winded Lea. "Hi everyone! Sorry I'm late!" She comes over and sits next to Callum, draping her cardigan over the back of her seat. Most everyone is nearly finished eating, but Lea just gets served.

"Where have you been young lady?" he asks in a sarcastic, overly-protective father-figure-like tone. "I had to go back to work to get my phone. I only remembered I had left it when I got home." She continues eating and he accepts her story.

Mellie chimes in, directing herself to Isabell who had just sat next to her. "Izzy, what's for dessert?" The girl looks at Mellie in an apologetic manner, and tells her "I'm sorry, I didn't even think to make any. My apologies dear."

Her father pipes up, "You don't need desert every night Mellie." She turns back to Isabell. "Oooh! We have vanilla icecream in the freezer!"

The father smirks at Mellie. "Snooping again, huh?" She jumps as if she's just been caught red-handed, and stares back at him. "N-noooooo- I saw it when- when I was getting my OJ!"

He shakes his head in disbelief and focuses his attention back on you. ", would you like some vanilla icecream for dessert? I'm sure they'll all live without it, but I thought I'd ask you in case you'd like us to have some."

"That sounds nice. Yes please."

"I'm okay, thanks."

A vast field behind the mansion. There isn't a real reason for there to be this much empty space, but it's here. A cobblestone path leads from the back patio to a wooden gazebo surrounded by more flowerbeds with pretty blue flowers. The gazebo itself has a round entrance point with a larger squared off section behind it. If it was walled off it could almost be it's own little house.

"Not without pay."

Leila is in here moving stuff around and going back and forth from hee and the patio tending the plants. She doesn't acknowledge your existence at all.

Patio

You walk underneath the gazebo. A cool wind blows your hair gently, and does the same to the two sleeping individuals lying down in the gazebo. One is a redhead with a large muscular physique in a loose croptop and basketball shorts, and the other is just a stick with short blond hair in an unzipped hoodie and dark jeans. The muscley one is laying on the gazebo floor with their head laying on a sports bag, and the other is leaning back against the low wall.

You turn to leave so you don't disturb them, but of course, you manage to hit the only thing not nailed down, a half-empty water bottle that was sitting on the floor next to you, with your foot. This wakes the redhead up and she sits up and looks at you.

"Oh hello!" she yawns excitedly before getting up and trotting over to you. "You must be , the new housekeeper!"

"I am but-" She cuts you off before you can tell her you're not doing any housekeeping, but she seems not to care about that. She seems happier to have another friend to play with.

"Great! Callum wake your ass up!" The other person opens their eyes, squinting. "Callum! said would play with us!"

"I don't really feel like it Stace. I'm still worn out from football." Callum lies back down, and Stacey turns back to you. "Ah, don't worry. He's always a party pooper. Anyways, come on. Let's go play soccer!"

"Sure, let's go!"

"I don't really feel like it."

You're underneath the backyard gazebo. Signs of Stacey and Callum's playing remains littered across the floor.

The figure is seething. Unable to contain their rage, they stand up and throw a punch into your face, knocking you backwards in your chair and your head slammed onto the hardwood floor.

"I fucking hate brats like you! Making my job harder just because you wanna be rebellious!"

They walk over and kick you over, and over, and over in the ribs. You scream like a banshee from the sharp pain that is their steel-toe boots ramming into your side repeatedly.

"You get what you fucking deserve you scoundrel! Do you know what you did!? Do you!?! You-"

You lie there in shock, and pass out from the pain.

You walk over to Jess and Isabell having decided to help them. "Aw dear you don't have to help us, you're our guest, we couldn't expect that from you." Jess also says, "Yea , we can take care of this."

"But I want to help you so it gets done faster" you reason with them. "You do have a point" Jess says while looking at the days worth of dirty dishes stacked up next to the sinks. They take a portion of the stack standing next to them and put it in front of you, sliding over so you have room to wash them over the sink. They wash their dishes, scrubbing to make sure every particle of food comes off, and rinse them off before placing them on a drying rack on the back of the sink.

"So, how has your day here been so far?" Jess inquires of you. You respond in a calm tone, "It could have been better considering the job offer, but I've accepted it, and I'm happy to stay here for a while with you all."

They smile and keep washing the dishes. They abruptly tap your shoulder and have you look over at Isabell's side. Her stack of dishes was much more than you and Jess's stacks combined, and she's already done, and now busy wiping the kitchen counters down. "See, there's a reason she gets paid so well..." Isabell turns back while wiping the counters and giggles softly. "I may only be a few years older than either of you, but I've been doing this for a while, and I've become super efficient as you can see."

Jess nods at you as confirmation, and helps you finish the last of the dishes. You both finish after not too long, and they hug you, thanking you for the much needed help.

Yay for clean dishes!

You crack open the door. You know you could get in immense trouble for this, but you decide to go in. Luckily, you were right, the father is still in the library. You turn the light on and look around. You get a better look around now than you did when you first met him, but it just looks like an office. His long rounded desk sits at the far back, books and papers stacked neatly upon the sides of it, and the walls are mostly bare, save for a few paintings of Jess's he hung up. It doesn't look like there is anything of value in front of the desk, but you could always search it's drawers.

You walk into Stacey's room. It's messily organized: Sports equipment on the floor lining one of the walls, a glass window cabinet full of trophies and medals, and clothes sitting at the top of her dresser.

Nothing else really stands out to you, except for the overly musty smell, mixed with the lemon scent of an air freshener.

"Hi . Dinner should be done soon. Ollie should already have set the table, so I'll be ready to serve soon."

Dinner time

"I'll be right back."

You look at him frustratedly. "That's definitely a shock, but um- yea. It's okay. I'll stay here for a while, and maybe if we can find some other work for me, that'll be great- but-" You look down half defeated.

"I'm sorry again, , I truly am. If I have any oddjobs for you around the estate, I'm sure I can spare a bit of cash. I should also be getting some more money soon, but it's nothing set in stone, otherwise I would have let you work and paid you afterwards. Though, that would require you trusting me to pay you after longer than a day at a time, which would have been understandable if you hadn't accepted. Anyways! I hope you can make yourself at home here for a while. I can't promise I'll always be free, but if you need me for whatever reason, don't be afraid to ask."

He smiles and stands reaching his hand out to you. You shake his hand, thank him, and go to leave the room.

"Oh! Before you leave, if you'd like to meet my daughters- erm, children, Lea, Raven and Mellie's bedrooms are on the second floor, Stacey and Callum are on the third floor, and Jessica and Leila are on this floor in the other wing. If you wanna know about any of them I'm sure I can try to give you a little info. But for now, I'll let you go before I talk your ear off."

Leave

"Jessica is a sweetheart. She helps the maid and butler out a lot, and is really creative. She likes making art in the wine cellar, and some of the paintings you see hanging around are hers actually. She sells them online for a surprising amount of money. She doesn't seem super happy though. I can't tell what it is. But, I'm sure one day she'll have her own studio where she can make art and just be herself. I'm sure that'll find her true happiness."

You step into the quiet, dark kitchen. It smells like soap and chemical cleaner.

Isabell and Jess sit on stools talking, and Jess waves at you, thanking you again for the help.

You enter the kitchen. A cart full of empty dishes sits next to the double-basin sink, where Isabell and Jess wash said dishes.

"I'm- really sorry... I'm just in a hurry and didn't see you. That's my fault. The maid left some refreshments in the kitchen. I'm sure Mr. Ollie here will take you." The man nods in agreement. "Well I'll see you later. I really have to leave. Sorry again!" She runs out before you can respond, and leaves in the back of the black car you arrived in.

"She's always running around busy. I assure you she didn't mean it. I do hope you will forgive her."

He walks you inside and leads you towards a kitchen off to the side. Inside a maid is stirring a pot of food, wafting the aroma around the room.

"Isabell dear, our guest could use some refreshments if you please." She looks at you with a pleasant smile and brings over a glass cup half full of ice, and pours a pitcher of dark liquid in the cup. "? I hope I got that right. Your room is on the second floor in the right wing. Allow me to take you there after you drink your tea." He leaves the kitchen walking out into the main floor.

"Lea's really hard working. Ever since their mother left, Lea has been taking care of that role. Well, at least part of it. She doesn't cook, or clean, or really anything considered motherly since I pay my staff to do that... Maybe I could get Lea to do all that instead... No, she's busy all the time anyways. I'm not quite sure where she goes, or why, but it's almost everyday. She usually comes home tired, eats dinner, and goes to bed. I wonder what it is she does. Surprisingly, she never really explained."

It's getting kind of dark. You probably shouldn't be back here, at least not without a light.

Front yard

You pass by the cellar, but turn back when you hear it creak open. A femenine firgure with a long combed over mowhawk wearing a paint covered apron comes up holding a canvas with a beautiful mountainous landscape painted upon it. "Oh hey. I thought I heard someone new. I'm Jessic- Jess- um- just Jess, please. Hi. Um- I'd shake your hand or hug you or something but as you can see."

"Hug me..?" you question. "I- I don't know. Do people- hug? when they meet? Meh I dunno. Anyways, come follow me instead of just standing there awkwardly waiting for me to talk."

They have a point...

"You're the new housekeeper right? is it?" You follow them and tell them you aren't actually able to work there. "Well you seem nice, so I'm sure it'll be nice having you here even if it isn't for work."

They walk you around to the front of the house and you both sit on the edge of the fountain. "I gotta wait for my buyer to pull up. I make a good amount of money from my paintings, but it takes me a while to finish them. I always run out of inspiration and motivation anymore and decide I don't wanna finish it. This painting is from a while back when I was doing multiple paintings a week, but I haven't actually finished anything recently."

A vehicle pulls up, and a rather undescript man walks out and up to Jess. "Here you are Russell, I hope you like it." Jess holds the painting out for him to see. "Oh my..!" he exclaims in a soft tone. "It's... beautiful..." Jess's face flushes with happiness, and the man hands them a stack of money, counting it out to be eight-hundred dollars.

"And here's a bit more for being such a sweet girl." He hands them an extra two-hundred and takes the painting, holding it under one arm. "And send your dad my regards." Jess looks at him hesitantly and watches as he turns away. "I will. Thank you." He waves his hand as he walks away and drives off.

Jess sits back down on the fountain looking almost defeated, even while holding a stack of a thousand dollars. "I was just thinking. Would you- would you like me to paint your portrait?" they inquire nervously. "It wouldn't be today, but maybe we could start tomorrow? We'll figure it out. If you want to that is."

"I would love that!"

"I'm not quite sure."

You should meet the family before going further.

"Leila is... She- Okay. Imagine a generic, snobby, little princess, and that's her. She means well I know, but- well you'll see. She just kind of always tries to get what she wants because her daddy is rich. I tried to teach my other kids not to act like that- not that some don't mooch, and not that I don't allow them to mooch if they need, but none of them beg. Except for Leila. I really should say something nice about her- Um... She's- nice- at times, and definitely likes getting to know people, but once she knows those people- ugh. Our relationship isn't amazing but I really try to make sure her ego doesn't blow over. Oh. She also loves gardening. The backyard is all her doing. That's one good thing."

You knock on Leila's door, but no one answers.

You knock on Leila's door, and hear a loud "Ugh!" stand up and walk ove to answer the door. "What" she says bluntly. You tell her you just wanted to see how she was doing, but she doesn't let you finish, slamming the door on you, leaving you alone in front of the annoyed girl's door.

For some reason, I don't think she likes me.

You could knock, but you decide not to. It's late, and she would just berate you for interrupting her sleep, justifiably.

"Oh that old thing. Yea I play a little." He gets up and grabs it before coming back over. "I used to play more but I started working and haven't been playing it as much as I'd like." He tunes the strings, listening carefully to the note each pluck gives. "Do you play at all?" he asks while slowly tuning the guitar.

"I've only played the drums in my middle school band" you scoff at yourself. He laughs, "We've all been there." He lays the guitar on his thigh, and slowly strums a couple strings in tandem. You can tell he's a bit rusty, as he has trouble remembering the finger positions for some chords.

"Ah! I should remember these." He frustratedly moves his fingers trying to remember the chords. "Oh well. I should remember a couple other songs."

He starts strumming, a little faster and more confident than before, and you start to make out the opening notes of Something in the Way by Nirvana. He looks like he's zoned out playing, and you smile, moving your head to the music as he hums the lyrics.

He finishes and looks over at you smiling. "Wow. That was pretty good for not having practiced in a while haha!" He looks proud of himself and gets up to put it away. "I should definitely practice more though."

"That's alright. We can talk or find something else to do another time.

"Well, I'm gonna go talk to my dad for a bit. We should be having dinner soon too I think." He leads you out of his room and walks down the hall to his dad's office.

You hear her stop yelling and she opens the door, the music getting louder as it escapes out the doorway. She notices you and he face lights up. She puts her index finger up signing you to wait, and tells the person on the phone to go fuck themself, and hangs up.

"Hey babes, come in." She lets you in and turns the tv down. "Sorry about that. My- boss- is being a dumbass, not paying me the right amount, and it pissed me off so I gave him a piece of my mind."

"Where do you work anyways?" you ask. She tenses up at this question. "Ah... Eveyone asks me that haha... I just work at a food pantry to help homeless people. Nothing much. It's usually not too busy."

Her obvious hurriedness earlier in the day contradicts that last statement, but you decide not to question it. "Oh, also, sorry about this morning. I was kind of in a rush cause I was..." She seems to notice this contradiction. "Oh yea I was getting my phone. I left it and really had to get it back ya know?"

You agree and she tries to change the subject before you can question her further. "Anyways, my dad told me about you. I heard about the job thing. That sucks. Hopefully he can help get you some work around here, tho I wouldn't know what there is. Callum works downtown at a small hardware store, but he was really lucky to get that job."

"What about your job?" She blushes heavy at this question for some reason. "My- my job? You? at my job? I- Wait- yea the food pantry. They don't really pay us at the pantry. It's just volunteer work."

Something in her story isn't lining up. She works at a food pantry which doesn't pay her, but she also gets paid by her boss? You again decide not to question it as it really isn't any of your business, but you keep note of it. You two talk about other stuff such as her taste in music, which consists mostly of electronic pop music, and her going back to college after having taken a year off.

She kicks you out after getting another phone call, and says you can talk tomorrow.

Leave

You help her carry over a few bags of fertilizer to an empty flowerbed. "Thanks for the help" she says somewhat ungratefully. "I could definitely use more of your help."

"I'm not doing any work without getting paid" you respond. She bites back "The fuck you mean without pay? That's the whole point of you being here right?"

"I'm not actually going to be working." you say dejectedly. "Your father is just going to let me stay for a while, and maybe we'll look for other oppurtunities while I'm here."

"Oh that's unfortunate. I have a lot to do and I could have used the help. Oh well. I don't care what you do then. Just don't be a nuisance."

She seems- interesting.

"Ugh! Fine. Then get out. I really don't care if you work or not."

Wow. She's bossy.

You lightly knock on the door. No answer. You knock again. No answer. You knock again. No answer.

This repeats for about three more knocks until you turn and notice a girl slightly shorter than you, long brown hair, and wearing a cute bear onesie, with her head cocked to the side staring at you. She stares into your eyes with an inquisitive expression, as if she's trying to read your mind.

"...Want some?" She holds her arm out towards you, holding a glass of pulpy orange juice.

"Um- no thank you... I'm -"

"OHHHHH!! Of course! You're the new- whatever your job here is supposed to be." She walks over and shakes your hand with her other hand, which feels more like a robot struggling to rub your hand. "I'm Mellie. I'll go tell my dad you're here." And with no time to process anything that just happened, the bear strolls away, orange juice still in hand.

She's odd

She looks at you like you just said most idiotic thing she's ever heard. She pulls her door back open and looks at you. "If you really want to- I guess you can." She walks in and sits on her bed, never taking her eyes off you as you follow her in.

Her room is dark. Not just because the lights are off and the walls are painted a dark grey, but due to the many satanic symbols plasters upon the walls, and the pieces of human skull paraphenalia littered among her 'normal' stuff. Candles, some lit, some used up, sit on her shelves, making the room smell faintly of smoke.

She doesn't say anything right away, just watches as you look around her room. Then she starts softly speaking. "Um. Was there anything you wanted to talk about? or did you just want to look around my room?" You walk slightly farther in the room about to answer when you see her pointing at your feet. You're standing on a pentagram carpet. "Heh. Caught you." She cracks a slight smile, before letting it fade away again.

"Have you heard about my sister yet? Her name is- was Riley. She used to live in the room down the hall." She's talking about the door down the hall with the scratches on it. "I think- she's still in there. I haven't been in there because the door is locked, but she's in there." You don't necessarily believe her, but you sit on a padded chair near the door, and listen to her.

"I want to summon her so I can talk to her again. I want to do a seance. I have all the candles, and I have a doll she loved when she was still alive." Her eyes are watery, but she doesn't care that you see. "You don't have to, but it would be nice if someone did it with me. No one else wants to. They just want to let her rest, but I know she's in there and just wants out. ...Anyways, I'll be doing it tomorrow night, so if you can help me, I'd appreciate it."

"Sure, I'll help you."

"I'll think about it..."

"Wait, really?" She seems surprised by your acceptance. "O-okay. Tomorrow night then. I'll be in here."

"Yes. Please do. I'll be in here if you change your mind at any point."

"Thank you for talking to me. I should sleep. Good night-" She forgets your name for a second. "-." You wish her goodnight and leave the room, closing the door to the dark room behind you.

Back

"OhmyGodyourethebest!" she spurts out before dragging you deeper in the field kicking a soccer ball out which she runs by herself to go receive only to kick it back at you again.

You have trouble keeping up with her, as she launches the ball past you, which you of course have to go get, then kick it back only for her to have to run back towards you to get the ball because you couldn't kick it far enough.

All in all, you enjoy your short game with Stacey. You seem to have sweat a bit, but not terribly. Stacey on the other hand is drenched with sweat which has resoaked her croptop. You come back and see Callum getting up and welcoming you back.

"Awwww! You're no funnnnn . We can always play another time then."

"Well, I'm gonna go back inside. I know we didn't get to talk much, but I'll be in my room if you want to talk or anything. My room is on the third floor across from Stacey's." Callum walks off towards the patio, leaving you and stacey alone.

Stacey turns to you and smiles. "I'm gonna go back in too. I'll be in the shower, but I'll be in the weight room after. See ya !" She runs off too.

What a fun duo

"Oh. Hey . I don't think we've officially met yet. I'm Mellie."

She stands up and shakes your hand, smiling lazily. She sits back down on a mostly flattened beanbag chair squished against the foot of her bed, her half lidded eyes fixated on a cartoon on the tv; it looks to be an anime; it's just Dragon Ball.

Back

"Oh. Hey again . Wanna watch this with me? It's really good." She leans back on a mostly flattened beanbag chair squished against the foot of her bed, her half lidded eyes fixated on a cartoon on the tv; it looks to be an anime; it's just Dragon Ball.

Back

"Okay! You can come in now."

You walk in at her command, and notice the tv is off, and Mellie is sitting on the floor with her comforter over her lap. "Hey . Sorry, I was just tryna clean up my room real quick. You get it." Her room is still very cluttered. "I was just watching anime. I was watching-" She realizes the tv is off and thinks about turning it back on with her remote, but places it back on her lap instead. "Aha, I'm actually about to go to sleep. Can you believe it? Me? going to sleep so early? Hah! We can hang out tomorrow though if ya want."

You exchange nightly pleasantries and close her bedroom door, hearing her give a sigh of relief as you leave.

What an oddball

"Ahh! Fuck! I said get out!"

A human-shaped lump sits under a comforter. The room flickers from a light on the tv- which is playing- it's hentai.

"Please- get out!" she yells embarassedly. You close the door and hear her give a sigh of relief as you leave.

Maybe I should have waited longer-

"Mellie is a lazy bum. She's an oddball, and gets along with everyone, but she doesn't really do anything significant. But I have to give her credit, she's really, really smart. She doesn't use that intelligence, but when she does have to, she's a genius. A very lazy genius. She gave me this comic book thing, but it doesn't really make sense to me. I like the art, and the characters are fun, but I don't understand the plot. Hell it doesn't even make much sense panel to panel half of the- most of the time. I'll have to ask her to help me later."

The room across from yours is apparently Mellie's. The door is closed.

Knock

Nevermind

Maybe shouldn't enter her room when she's not in there.

Mellie's door is closed, and she is presumably sleeping.

"Hey , did you clean my trash up? Well- thanks. It's not that I particularly like having trash in here, but- I'm lazy. I wasn't gonna clean it. I probably wouldn't have let you either, but I'm glad you did." She sends a lazy smile your way before turning back to the screen.

You take a standing pose as if you're about to summon satan from your spinal column, and relieve yourself, leaving your pants soaked in liquid ammonia, and a puddle on the floor beneath your feet. The interrogater gets up and bitch slaps you across the face so hard, your body almost ragdolls across the room and onto the floor. Your body isn't very fit, and definitely not so compared to Stacey's, but you feel confident that you'll be able to do at least a few. And you were right! You did three. You were able to do those three decently well, but your arms quickly tired. You drop down, and Stacey is still going. You notice her hands are placed differently than yours were. Hers are palm-out, as if she's climbing a ladder, and yours were the reverse grip, which made yours chinups, not pullups.

After a couple minutes of pullups, she looks over at you and notices you looking up at her. "Oh! I won! I won! Woo!" She looks very pleased with herself, though there was never really a contest to begin with. "That was really fun! You did really good!" She didn't look your way once. She was just dead focused on winning, but you appreciate the compliment.

She continues her loud self appraisal when suddenly you see Leila slam the door the rest of the way open, seething. "Stacey, you better shut the fuck up. It is so fucking late, and you're in here yelling, and the entire fucking house can hear you." Stacey looks back at her, withdrawing a rebuttal to Leila's complaint. Leila glares you down as well before storming out of the room.

Stacey sits down obviously shaken. This is the first time you've see her noticabley upset. It's not a depressiveness, but more of a melancholic isolation. "I- yea. I was being too loud. She always has to tell me to be quiet. I'm just not good at controlling my volume, ya know?" You can tell this happens quite often by her expression, and wants to change it, but feels as though she can't.

"I guess I'll just have to deal with it for now until I have my own place where I can yell all I want!" She goes back to giving you a gentle glow, and picks up a towel, wiping her sweat drenched body off. "Well, I should probably head to bed. I'll see ya tomorrow ."

Leave

"Hmmm. You might be right. I might end up getting too loud anyways, and Leila would probably come down and yell at me." She gets up and stretches before picking up her towel and drying herself off. "Well, I should probably head to bed. I'll see ya tomorrow ."

No?.. Um- If you don't answer we can't continue. And if you don't continue- well I'm sure you can figure that out. So let me ask again dearie. Is it okay if I ask you a couple questions?

Yes

No

"Raven is a recluse. She always kind of has been, but it got much worse last year. She's actually a twin, but her sister Riley passed away last year. It affected her terribly. I mean it affected all the kids including me, but they were so close. Best friends. Torn apart because of something so stupid..." His eyes start watering until he blinks the tears away and takes a deep breath to regain his composure.

You go up to Raven's door, and before you can decide whether to knock or not, she yells from inside the room, "Who is it?" You answer. You hear the door unlock and she peeks out.

"Hi" she says awkwardly. "...Thank you. At dinner I mean..." You tell her it was no problem.

"Hi" she says awkwardly. "...I'm sorry about earlier today... I don't know why I freaked out so much. I just wasn't expecting someone new to be there." You assure her it's okay.

"Hi" she says awkwardly. "...I'm sorry I didn't talk to you earlier at dinner... I wasn't sure what to say." You assure her it's okay.

With nothing left to say, she slowly presses the door towards you.

"Can I come in?"

You shouldn't disturb her anymore.

Day

You knock on the door telling you to go away. You hear a rustling in the room and back up. The door opens up quickly and a sleepy dark haired girl emerges. "What do you- Ah! Fuck! Who the fuck are you!?" She slams the door.

"I- um- I'm sorry for startling you..." you say sheepishly.

You knock on what you assume is Lea's empty room, and hear the door behind you open quickly, where a sleepy dark haired girl emerges. "What do you- Ah! Fuck! Who the fuck are you!?" She slams the door.

"I- um- I'm sorry for startling you..." you say sheepishly.

You walk down to the scratched up door. They look less like actual scratches, and more like cuts from a knife. You decide to knock anyways, and hear the other door open up quicly, where a sleepy dark haired girl emerges. "What do you- Ah! Fuck! Who the fuck are you!?" She slams the door.

"I- um- I'm sorry for startling you..." you say sheepishly.

You hear a shuffling come down the stairs and see it's Mellie (still holding her orange juice), and the man who hired you to work for him. "I see you met the recluse" the man snickers. Don't worry, she'll warm up to you eventually I'm sure."

You walk up to the third floor landing and see a girl holding a glass of- orange juice- in a bear onesie- who turns out to be a girl named Mellie, and the man who hired you to work for him. "I see you met the recluse" the man snickers. Don't worry, she'll warm up to you eventually I'm sure."

He comes up to you and shakes your hand, then asks you to come to his office up on the fourth floor. It's not as big as some of the bedrooms, but for an office it's pretty big. He sits at his desk across from you, stacks of books and papers lining the edges.

"It's nice to finally meet you . I know you came here for work- and that's what I hired you for, but honestly, I'm not sure if I really need your help anymore... And, I'm low on money. Um- It's just hard taking care of so many kids- ya know?" But I'll tell ya what. I can't pay you for your troubles, work or not, but, I own a mansion as you can see. I have an amazing staff- of two- who can take care of you as if you were one of my own children. If you would like to stay here for a little while, you are more than welcome. If you would like help looking for other job oppurtunities I can try to help you, but other than that, I am deeply sorry."

She wasn't as reclusive as Raven ever was, but she was still fairly reserved. she had few friends, but you could tell those freinds were the only ones she needed, including raven." He stifles back his tears and takes a breath before looking back at you again.

"Stacey's such a tomboy. She loves staying fit and working out and playing sports. She even set up her own lifting room on the third floor. I'm sure she'd let you use it once you two are acquainted. She's usually either in there or out back running or playing football with Callum. She's also always super hyper and bubbly. I don't know how she always has so much damn energy. Some of the other kids barely do anything, but she could probably wake up in the middle of the night and be ready to run a marathon."

You sit in the back of a long black car. The green scenery flies past the window until you see a tall black fence slowly come into view. It surrounds a massive building. It's an older looking mansion sat on a large field of green, and surrounded by forest on all sides.

The car suddenly stops, and the driver tells you through a raspy voice, "We're here." A man in a light brown suit comes to your door and pulls it open. "I thank you for coming. Please make yourself feel at home. Would you like me to escort you inside?"

"Yes please."

Look around first

Stacey's weight room. Her own personal gym. The door is closed, but it smells strongly of rubber and sweat.

Back

Stacey's weight room. Her own personal gym. The door is half open, and you hear Stacey grunting. You step in, and she's doing reps of some sort of dumbbell lifting you don't really recognize. She smiles and invites you in, dropping the dumbbell on the floor, which is pretty loud considering how late it is.

"Oh my god! ! You came to see little ol' me this late at night?" She comes up to you can hugs you, picking you up off the ground a few inches. Her already wet clothes sweat onto yours, and she gently lets you down, noticing you were off the ground.

She holds your hands in her sweaty palms. "Soooo, , what are you doing in here? Did you want to work out with me? Ooh! We could run on the treadmill, orrr we couldddddd maybe do a pullup contest?"

"Sounds fun!"

"It's a bit late for that."

Stacey's weight room. Her own personal gym. The door is barely ajar, and it reeks of sweaty rubber. She probably wouldn't mind you being in here, but she definitely would mind you doing any lifting without her spotting you.

Leave

The door is closed, and you hear Stacey snoring really loud. Must've had a good day.

Knock

Back

You walk up to Callum's room. The door is open and you're about to walk in when you see him watching his tv while in the middle of changing his shirt.

"Ah sorry!" you apologize as you quickly close the door." You hear him inside the room say "For what..?" and then he realizes he's wearing his chest binder. He puts a shirt on and opens the door.

"It's okay" he laughs, "I wasn't born in a guys body if that helps clear things up. Wanna come in?" You nod still somewhat embarassed and walk in.

"I see you met my hyper hunk of a sister Stacey. She's not always that hyper- I take that back. She always is. But she heard someone new was coming over and when you just kind of walked into her arms, well, you experienced it. Anyways, I invited you to my room, but I've no clue what to say or do. You?"

You look around for something to spark a conversation. The only thing you really notice that might be a good conversation starter is an electric guitar hanging on the wall next to his bed.

"Are you good at guitar?"

"I don't either."

The door's locked. Callum said he was going to talk to his dad.

Back

"It's unlocked!" he yells. You step in the room, and Callum smiles at you. "I'm practicing a new song." You sit down next to him, the gentle plucking of the unplugged electric guitar's strings sit inside your ear, being replaced by the hum of the next pluck. He plucks strings until he stops, and then starts strumming a faster melody, which again slows as he tries to remember where each finger is supposed to be placed.

He gives up and puts the guitar on the bed behind him. "Ugh. I wish I had more time to practice. I work at a hardware store downtown, but my boss wants me to work more. His business is struggling, so he needs us to work more hours just so we can stay above breaking even. (12:50) I mean I'm glad to have my own job, and to be making my own money, but god is it stressful." He stands up o his guitar, walks around the side of his bed and puts his guitar on the wall.

"I'm sorry for ranting so much. I have to work again tomorrow. I won't be here tomorrow for a while, so if I don't see you in the morning, I'll see you at dinner."

He lays down on his bed, and exposits suddenly. "My dad doesn't think I try hard enough. I've been doing my absolute best to get where I am now, but my dad still thinks I'm doing enough. He tries to help me make progress, but all he does is embarass me and-" He stops and sits up, noticing he's ranting again. "I'm sorry. I'll see you tomorrow ." You leave his room, wishing him a good night.

Knock

Back

Back

Mellie yells suddenly, "Whooo! You're the best !" She hugs you graciously, and looks over to Isabell, who stands up, and heads into the kitchen. "Make sure you thank our guest Mellie." She beams a smile your way and hugs you again as if she hasn't eaten icecream in years. "Thank you thank you thank you!" she yells again, holding onto you tightly, before letting go, and bouncing in her seat waiting for dessert.

Isabell comes out a few moments later, a bowl full of icecream for each person, on another cart. She passes a bowl around to each person when Ollie comes out from a side room and walks up to the father, whispering in his ear.

"Can this wait Oliver? We have a guest." He whispers once more, this time longer. "I see. Alright." He gets up from his seat, leaving his bowl unguarded. "I unfortunately have a sudden meeting I am to attend. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your nights." He notices Mellie eyeing his icecream bowl, and he slides it across to her. "You and may share it." He walks off with Ollie to the other side of the main floor, and into a room that looks to be a library.

Mellie eats the second bowl of icecream, forgetting that her dad just told her to share, but you don't mind.

Mellie looks disappointed, but accepting. "Darn. Too good to be true." You watch her mope when you see Ollie come out from a side room and walk up to the father, whispering in his ear.

Jess doesn't wanna talk right now.

You follow the butler up the stairs to the second floor. He leads you to the right wing, and to your bedroom. He unlocks the door with a keyring, and takes one off handing it to you. He walks in and flicks the lightswitch, illuminating the room.

The room is bigger than any room you've ever been in. The bed against the wall could easily fit four of your body on it. The closet is not just a closet, but a walk-in, though there are no clothes in it. A tall ordaned mirror lies shattered on the floor.

"Oh dear. I apologize for that. Let me ask Isabell to help me clean it up and I will bring you another mirror. In the mean time, you're free to wander the house. Mellie's room is across from yours if you'd like to meet her."

Leave room

You should wait until they clean up the glass from the broken mirror.

The father's office is closed, but not locked. Father should still be in the library.

Back

The door is closed. You hear Callum and his dad talking inside.

Back

The estate's owner sits in his office at his desk. He's reading something with a confused, scrunched up face. Looks like a manga Mellie let him borrow. He's reading it backwards.
